This small diesel road roller was manufactured by Wallis & Steevens of Basingstoke, Hampshire.  It's compact size and manoeuvrability made it ideal for use in the the Island's small lanes.  Note the scarifier mounted just in front of the rear roller, despite it's relatively small size, low gearing made it quite capable of all the usual tasks expected of it's larger brothers.  All the rolls were fitted with water spray bars, these were used to stop tarmac adhering to the rolls.
